MEP Quantity Surveyor
Profile - Quantity Surveyor Location - Dubai. Key Purpose: To rate the analysis and preparation of technical and commercial bids for tenders. Role & Responsibilities: Scrutinize tender documents, identify discrepancies, and prepare technical clarification letters to the Consultant. Prepare budget estimates. Conduct detailed and accurate quantity take-offs. Prepare subcontractor bid documents. Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of subcontractor quotations and negotiate with subcontractors. Organize and coordinate dealings with Department staff. Prepare material and manpower requirements. Monitor and control project costs. Identify and prepare variations and monthly valuations for projects. Verify subcontractor variations and payment certificates. Attend site visits and assess site conditions for tenders. Candidate Profile: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum 10 years' experience in preparation of estimates and Bills of Quantities or Contract Administration of major civil, commercial, residential, high-rise buildings, and industrial projects. Vast experience with reputable contracting companies in the UAE. Proven experience in high-rise tower construction projects, including projects involving unlimited/multiple floor levels, is a MUST. High-rise building construction experience is mandatory. Knowledge of different methods of measurement and cost analysis. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in standard software programs such as Excel, Word, MS Project, and estimating-specific software. Thorough knowledge of contracts, with the ability to identify and rectify contract deviations or deficiencies. Familiarity with standard construction contract language, procedures, claims, variations, and correspondence. Excellent written communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse multicultural workforce. Must be flexible enough to work in both site-based and Head Office-based environments. Important: Candidates without proven MEP contracting with high-rise tower construction experience, particularly on projects involving multiple/unlimited floor levels, will not be considered.
