The Operations Manager at a plastic manufacturing facility is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves coordinating production activities, managing resources, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement to meet the factory’s goals. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution. Ensure that products are manufactured to quality standards and specifications. Manage production teams, supervisors, and maintenance staff to achieve operational targets. Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance to reduce downtime. Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs. Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies in compliance with regulations. Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and delivery of finished products. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality rates, and operational costs. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices. Ensure compliance with ISO or other relevant quality management systems. Develop training programs to enhance the skills and performance of factory staff. Liaise with senior management on operational strategy, budgets, and capital investment needs.
